36 Days of Type

36 Days of Type is an annual online challenge where designers and animators reimagine the alphabet in creative ways. For this edition, we teamed up with our talented friends at Patswerk to bring the letter 'P' to life because, well, both our names start with P! Check out our playful take on this design tradition.

The Process

Collaborating with Patswerk is always an exciting challenge! Their signature flat design style pushes us to find creative solutions for translating 2D visuals into dynamic 3D animations. Take this cat, for example, its body and legs weren’t exactly built for a convincing run, but we made it work! We also added some subtle compositing magic in the final shot, like a little drop shadow on the nice lady when the characters hug. And it ended up looking purrrfect..
