Centric is one of the largest IT companies in the Netherlands. PHUNK was asked to make a brandfilm for them in an approachable and recognisable 3D style. The central characters in the animation are a family which showcases the different products and services of Centric.

Characters

We designed a family that represents the different age groups that come in contact with the products and services of Centric. Technological change is a central theme in the video and we wanted to show this by using different generations.

We had a lot of fun animating the animals in this video. Their designs really inspired us to make humorous animations.

Environments

For the concept we needed static backgrounds which were expressive and recognisable.

Process

The central concept was that of the family. Besides this we were also looking for a visual concept. We decided to go for transitions between shots where the characters are posed in the same way before and after the cut. Moving objects were also used to make transitions between shots. (See example below)
